Marcus Reoch

Founder & Managing Director

Marcus fell in love with China in 2006, while living with a Chinese family in Shanghai and learning Mandarin. He set up Dragons to spread his passion for Mandarin Chinese. At the same time as managing the company, Marcus still teaches Chinese every week, as he never wants to lose the spark of education.

Julian Drinkall

Chairman

Julian brings a wide experience of leadership and performance in education operations and educational publishing. Currently General Manager of Aga Khan Schools (over 250 schools in 14 countries) he has also been CEO of Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) – one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts; CEO of Alpha Plus Group and CEO of Macmillan Education. He has NED roles at Sanoma and Kindred. Julian is passionate about innovation and its impact on education.

Adam Ennis

Director of Operations

Adam has 10 years’ experience in international education working in a variety of roles including school management operations and business development. Adam lived and worked in China for much of this time, running the franchise operations division for a chain of English language schools and subsequently acting as the Chief Representative for a major UK educational service group.

Baker Tsai

Head of Teacher Training (Chinese)

Baker graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Melbourne. As a native Mandarin speaker and having lived and worked in Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, he understands the importance of learning a second language and cross-cultural communication in a globalised world. In addition to six years of banking and management consulting experience, Baker co-managed an education agency in Taiwan which helped students to accelerate their English learning via Intensive English Programme in the Philippines.

Mina Mahbubi

Customer Support Executive

Mina has studied Business Management & Entrepreneurship at the University of Roehampton. Mina is multi-lingual and enjoys learning new languages as a passion. She supports students who are interested in developing their language skills. Mina has always had an interest in teaching and may take on a part time  teaching role with Dragons Teaching to continue her passion. Mina has previously worked within the customer service industry and strives to provide the best client experience, ensuring all enquiries are treated to the best of her ability.

Ryan Bunker

Customer Support Executive

Ryan holds a Music Business and Live Entertainment degree from the University of Edinburgh. With a creative background, eager for a career in customer support and administration, Ryan went on to work as a personal assistant in companies such as Spotify and Depop Working at these companies, he has crafted his skills in customer and client relations and has adapted his experience working in the creative sector to fit Dragons high level of customer and client communications. Ryan understands deeply the importance of learning and developing a new language at a young age and the importance of making teaching and learning more accessible, affordable and engaging for all

Donna

Teacher of Spanish & French

Donna was raised in a Spanish-speaking family in London and first spoke English at school. While Spanish is in her blood, she also teaches French and has 25 years’ experience teaching Spanish and French from primary to A level. Being completely trilingual means that she can explain all aspects of grammar, vocabulary and culture in perfect English!

Eva

Teacher of Mandarin Chinese

Eva is an accomplished and passionate Mandarin teacher with more than seven years’ classroom experience in teaching the Cambridge Pre U, GCSE, A level and HSK. She was previously a Mandarin and homeroom teacher at a large independent school in China and now teaches Mandarin to students of all ages, both one-to-one and in groups.

Holly

Teacher of Spanish

Holly was born in London and studied Spanish at City of London School for Girls, where she achieved an A* at A level and was the recipient of a language scholarship. She has worked as a freelance Spanish tutor and music teacher for seven years and joined the Dragons Teaching family in 2021 as a Spanish teacher and language consultant.

Melody

Teacher of Mandarin Chinese

Melody is a native Mandarin speaker from China with a Masters Degree taught in English. She has more than 15 years tutoring experience at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level, including teaching students from Cheltenham Ladies’ College and Pate’s Grammar School. Melody instills confidence in all her students by making learning fun and interesting.

Sylvain

Teacher of French & EAL

After graduating from the University of Oxford, Sylvain taught in state schools in Ghana, Hong Kong, the UK and France. He has also spent seven years working in customer service and translation in London’s corporate world, helping to develop his teaching skills further. He is a patient, enthusiastic and UK-certified teacher.

Wendy

Teacher of Mandarin Chinese

Wendy is from Yangzhou, a beautiful city near Shanghai, and now lives in London. She has a wealth of experience in educating children, adolescents and adults in private and school classes (both in-person and online). Wendy enjoys capturing her students’ interest in Chinese culture to learn Mandarin actively.

Ying

Teacher of Mandarin Chinese

Ying is committed to promoting appreciation for Chinese culture, history and literature. She is patient, friendly and dedicated to providing an engaging and valuable classroom experience. Ying’s focus is on cooperating and interacting with her students, as well as promoting effective learning with clear and structured tasks and goals.

Emma

Teacher of Mandarin Chinese

Emma grew up in Shanghai and moved to England in 2013. She teaches Dragons students in small groups and individually, as well as teaching Mandarin at her local primary school, and enjoys introducing the language and culture to her students. In addition Emma designs and teaches online Mandarin courses for adult groups.

Amy

Teacher of Mandarin Chinese

Amy lived in Hong Kong for five years and studied Mandarin to A level. She is passionate about music and food, incorporating her knowledge of Chinese cuisine and arts in her lessons to expand her students’ cultural understanding. Amy is an energetic teacher who can teach students prepare for GCSE and A level exams, or to just learn for fun!

Joy

Teacher of Mandarin Chinese

Joy was born in Taiwan. She holds a position at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, where she teaches Applied Linguistics to her fellow teachers as well as teaching Mandarin. She has 10 years of experience in teaching Mandarin to students at all levels worldwide, both online and in the classroom. She is also involved in compiling textbooks and grading TOCFL exam papers.

Maggie

Teacher of Mandarin Chinese

Maggie is a native Mandarin speaker from Taiwan with a Bachelor Degree of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from Chung Yuan Christian University. She has seven years of classroom and online teaching experience, including two years teaching Mandarin in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is a friendly and passionate teacher who is particularly good with children.
