Project background
Established in 2008, Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) is a national family of 57 state schools, including primary, secondary and special schools. Earlier in 2021, the Trust wanted to provide language enrichment opportunities to pupils across its primary schools during the summer term, but the varied location of the schools made this nearly impossible.
How Dragons Teaching helped
Dragons Teaching provided the week-long Chinese enrichment programme ‘My Week in China’ to 700 Year 6 pupils from 18 Academies Enterprise Trust schools. 13 excellent Mandarin teachers were involved in this project, which involved online teaching through an integration with the Trust’s existing Google Classroom structure and access to DragonsConnect – our bespoke Mandarin e-learning platform – for all the pupils involved.
The outcome
The flexible offering allowed for simultaneous learning across all the AET schools involved in the programme, whilst our flexible integration with the Google Classroom structure meant that the provision was an easy deliverable for the schools. The schools also had access to their pupils’ results through an online portal, with all participating pupils receiving a certificate of achievement at the end of the week.
