Online teaching solution

Project background

Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, is a leading London independent day school for girls aged 4-18. Earlier in 2021, the school realised they had a gap in their timetable for Year 6 students following SATs exams, so Dragons Teaching worked with the school’s modern languages department to provide an enrichment programme to both excite and stimulate the girls’ learning.

The Dragons Teaching solution

Dragons Teaching provided a highly-engaging Spanish beginners’ course to Year 6 pupils after their SATs exam. The pupils had access to our bespoke Spanish e-learning platform, AmigosConnect, plus the provision of excellent Spanish teachers to lead the pupils through the building blocks of basic Spanish. Pupils worked through the learning platform, collecting ‘sombreros’ (collectable rewards) to encourage further participation and achievement.

The outcome

We were delighted to see that two students scored 100% in their engagement by collecting all the rewards possible across the platform – achieved by continuing with the exercises beyond the allocated curriculum time.

We were also able to see that the students’ number of log-in days was greater than the number of classes that students had received. This shows that students had been logging onto the platform outside of class time, further highlighting how much the pupils enjoyed the activity.
