How does Dragons Teaching’s Connect work for schools?
Connect splits whole classes into four groups. Two groups participate in live online teaching from two professional teachers, while the other two groups engage with our bespoke e-learning platform, built exclusively by Dragons Teaching. Halfway through the lesson, the groups switch.
In the live class, students are taught in a virtual classroom with lessons that feature interactive whiteboards and quizzes. On the e-learning platform, students navigate through a series of interactive activities, ranging from simple matching games to reading/listening exercises, introducing grammar, vocabulary and culture. The games use algorithms to ensure that words the student finds difficult reappear more frequently. The platform measures each student’s progress, rewarding individuals with virtual badges to reflect their effort and achievement.
Connect can run with any class size. The only requirements are:
- Broadband connection
- 1 x PC/Mac/Tablet per student
- 1 x headphone with mic per student
- 1 member of school staff to supervise the class
All of the classes and interactive exercises are hosted on our own bespoke platform, which includes a secure shared view for the teacher-led lesson. We also work with Zoom, Teams and GoogleMeet.
How much does a Dragon’s Teaching Connect course cost?
Connect classes cost £94 per hour, pro rata. This covers the cost of a whole class and includes the supply of a Dragons teacher, support from our head office, all required online resources and regular reporting to monitor students’ behaviour and progress.
As a guide, one class (based on 20-32 pupils) receiving one lesson from Dragons Teaching each week would cost approximately £3,196+VAT for one UK academic year (34 weeks)
Josh Harrison Finham Park 2
Our Year 7s really enjoyed their special Mandarin day working with Dragons Teaching. Our pupils immensely enjoyed the interactive lessons using their iPads, learning numbers, greetings and all about Chinese zodiac animals.
We had many “firsts” during this excellent programme. For many pupils, it was their first time to write in Mandarin, speak in Mandarin, and interact with native Mandarin speakers. Since this programme, our pupils have been able to interact in Mandarin with their Mandarin teacher with confidence, and their Chinese character handwriting has seen huge improvement.
Our Mandarin class at Finham Park 2 has grown as more and more pupils have expressed an interest in learning Mandarin. And that is all thanks to Dragons Teaching and their fantastic learning experience.
Beverly Dillon St Hilda’s Prep School
The girls really enjoyed learning with Dragons Teaching and felt that they had learned a lot. They are hoping to continue learning the language in secondary school. It is such a good course.

This year, for the first time, Year 6 had a taste of Spanish through the AmigosConnect programme, which was delivered entirely online. Thank you, Dragons!
Safeguarding & Child Protection
We provide only the best foreign language teachers to our schools. Our teachers are a mixture of native and non-native teachers and, given the online nature of the delivery, are physically located all over the world! The majority are currently teaching or have taught their chosen language in schools, and appreciate our focus on quality, engagement and reporting. They possess rich first-hand experience teaching online and undergo rigorous background checks to ensure safeguarding and professional delivery.
