Chinese New Year

An exciting programme of Chinese New Year celebrations for pupils aged 8 years+

During the week commencing Monday 23rd January 2023, Dragons Teaching will be running a school enrichment programme for pupils aged 8+ years to celebrate Chinese New Year: The Year of the Rabbit.

Dragons Teaching will provide teachers, online asynchronous learning and gifts for every pupil. We will send your school mini lanterns and red envelopes to distribute to participating pupils as themed takeaway gifts.

We can run minimum 2 hour enrichment sessions (1 hour each for 2 classes is common) or run an extended learning session to incorporate the teaching of Chinese language and characters. We will work completely in alignment with your timelines and year group requirements and we will bespoke the teaching to primary and secondary school level.

Priced at £98 (+vat) per hour inclusive of all teaching, teaching materials and gifts per student. Discounts available for bulk booking.

Blended Learning

Students spend 30 minutes learning basic Mandarin from one of our friendly, expert teachers online before completing fun, interactive exercises on DragonsConnect. In our 15 years of experience we have seen how this style of learning increases pupil engagement.

Cultural Enrichment

While learning Mandarin, pupils will learn about Chinese New Year traditions, including the significance of the Year of the Tiger and other Chinese cultural facts – great to share with friends and family.

Fun and Rewarding

As well as the interactive exercises on DragonsConnect, pupils will have the opportunity to engage in a relevant creative activity, and all participating pupils will receive Chinese New Year gifts to take home.

Our experience of Dragons was excellent and has increased our numbers in the Mandarin Excellence Programme from 15 to over 20. We would definitely want to work with Dragons again with our new Year 7s.

Dragons have been very well received – the staff are knowledgeable, approachable and have very good classroom presence. They make the lessons fun, whilst ensuring that the girls learn. The enthusiasm of the girls is outstanding – they really enjoy the lessons and also the interactive resources outside class.

We certainly feel that what Dragons Teaching provided exceeded our expectations and were delighted, as were the children, that their learning could continue during their home learning. They have really embraced all things Mandarin and now that they are back in school, their house point chart has their names in Mandarin characters!
