Dragons Teaching raises £0.6 million to empower UK language learning

Dragons is excited to announce we have successfully secured £0.6 million in a development capital investment round for its new EdTech provision, supported by private international investors.

Our Founder and Managing Director Marcus Reoch said: “A new generation of students expects education providers to use digital services to meet their requirements, and the dramatic changes experienced in 2020 mean that remote learning, virtual classrooms and efficient digital delivery platforms are increasingly seen as long-term solutions by schools, colleges and individuals. At the same time, there is massive unmet demand for language learning in the UK, which can only be met by digital transformation and an attractive remote teaching and learning model that can save organisations money and deliver a top-quality educational experience.

To meet this demand, Dragons has developed and successfully launched Connect, an innovative multi-language Online Platform. Following a successful pilot in 2020, the investment will be used to roll out Connect by investing in the Dragons team and further developing the Connect technology, resulting in an acceleration in our already ambitious UK and international growth plans.”

Through an innovative and technology-enabled class group learning platform Connect provides students with access to the best teachers globally and crucially removes geographical barriers where physical teaching is not available. Focusing initially on English, Spanish and Mandarin, where Dragons is a market leader and leading provider of school curriculum content in the UK, Connect is scalable to other languages and disciplines.

Julian Drinkall, Chairman of Dragons, added: “Dragons is delighted to partner with schools and colleges to enable them to harness technology and deliver new ways of learning and to support equal access to course materials for all students.”
